Who we are

SIMEM, established in 1963, has over the last 50 years been designing and manufacturing machinery and plants for the construction industry. SIMEM now offers a wide range of products that are specifically designed for the production of concrete, but non only:

  • Ready mix
  • Precast
  • Dam projects and massive pours
  • Road and basements
  • Turnkey solutions
  • Mobile solutions
  • Waste and soil remediation
  • Concrete recycling

The headquarters of SIMEM is still located in Minerbe and covers a surface of around 150,000 sq.mt. where the most advanced technologies for steel manufacturing process are being used. More than 150 highly specialized collaborators are employed for designing, manufacturing, servicing and promoting sales through an effective network of agents and dealers all over the world. SIMEM own subsidiaries are active in America, Brazil, India and Russia, where 100 people are employed to take care of local clients.

Since the beginning, SIMEM equipments have been known for their quality, heavy duty design and research of performances, supported by a proactive service organization with spare parts always available, trained technicians, and technical support for Customers; all these resources are convincing many Customers to rely on SIMEM plants for their projects, starting from portable ready-mix units up to large projects which are already part of SIMEM history, such as:

  • Follo Line tunnel, Oslo
  • Grand Renaissance Dam in Ethiopia
  • Eurotunnel between France and England
  • Hong Kong airport
  • Panama canal expansion
  • Mose project in Venice
  • Millennium dam project Ethiopia

Today SIMEM is the company with the highest number of references in hydropower applications, the most modern range of stationary and mobile plants, the most modern and wide range of mixers, including twin shaft, and planetary, which, thanks to SIMEM technology, find application also in the mining industry.

With the aim to expand its range of solutions to the prefabrication factories, SIMEM acquired an important share in SCHIASLO-SPIL, an historical company with 50 years of experience in the design and supply of distribution and forming equipments. This alliance will offer turn-key solutions for any precast industry.

On year 2000 the Environment division of Simem was started, to design and produce large plants for civil and industrial water and solid treatment; the most modern technologies for depuration are thus nowadays available to provide solutions into the environmental issues of the concrete production process as well.

The continuous innovation and the attention for quality can be recognized in the whole SIMEM program nowadays available for large projects, ready-mix operations and precast factories where concrete quality matters.

SIMEM means Records!

On December 23rd, 2009 SIMEM received the prestigious honor of providing the batching and mixing plants needed to construct one of the largest and most important engineering works ever planned: the widening of the Panama Canal through the construction of a new system of locks. The project was successfully supplied and completed a few months ago with the outstanding performance of SIMEM plants, which ensured non-stop production of 5 million cubic meters of concrete during the 5-year project!

The world record for daily RCC production was registered during the construction of the Renaissance Dam project in Ethiopia, thanks to the professional organization of Salini contractors. The Guinness World Record was set at 23.200 cubic meters of concrete batched and mixed with SIMEM plants on 24 hours on December 28, 2014.
