CELEBRATING FIVE YEARS OF RECORDS FOR A WORK OF GLOBAL RELEVANCE: THE PANAMA CANAL

After five years of non-stop efforts, SIMEM celebrates with pride and enthusiasm the conclusion of the Panama Canal's enlargement one of the most important works ever produced in the world.

In five years the two SIMEM mixing plants, one on the Atlantic Ocean and the other on the Pacific Ocean side, produced 5 million cubic meters of concrete at a peak speed of 720 cubic meters per hour on each plant.
An astonishing performance, apart from the volume of production, because of the reliability: in facts the plants have never stopped, even for a minute, all along these years project calendar!
This is not a lucky chance, but the result of accurate design and futuristic control systems: in facts SIMEM advanced the application of the internet of things concept by integrating the plants with a sophisticated remotely controlled supervision system which has allowed to monitor 24/7 the performances of each machine, planning preventive maintenance based on predictive data analysis.
Thanks to all SIMEM and GUPC teams!
